Svaiyay Mahalaa Chhota

Samarath guroo sir hath dhari-a-o.

Gur keenee kirpaa harinaam dee-ao,

Jis daykh charan aghan hara-o.

Nis baasur ayk samaan dhi-aan,

So naam sunay sut bhaan dara-o.

Bhan daas so aas jagatr guroo kee,

Paaras bhayt paras kara-o.

Raam Daas guroo har sat keeya-o,

Samarath guroo sir hath dhara-o.

Svaiyay, Fourth Mehla:

The All-Powerful Guru has placed His Hand upon my head.

The Guru has bestowed His Mercy and blessed me with the Lord’s Name.

Seeing the Lord’s Lotus Feet, my sins are washed away.

Night and day He meditates on the One Lord alone,

Hearing His Name, Yama (Death), the son of the sun, is scared.

Says the Guru’s slave, hope lies in the Guru of the world, Guru Amar Das;

He united Ram Das with the philosopher’s stone,

And so made Him to become the philosopher’s stone.

By God’s Grace, Ram Das is acclaimed as the True Guru;

The Hand of the All-Powerful Guru was placed upon His Head.

Kundalini Surjhee Satsangat shabd:

Jinho baat nischal dhru jaanee, tayee jeev kaal tay bacha.
Those who realize the Eternal, Unchanging Word of God, like Dhroo, are
immune to death.

Tin tario samundar rudar khin ek meh, jalahar bimb jugat jag rachaa.
They cross over the terrifying world-ocean in an instant; the Lord
created the world like a bubble of water.

Kundalini surjhee satsangat, paramanand guru mukh macha.
The Kundalini rises in the Sat Sangat, the True Congregation; through
the Word of the Guru, they enjoy the Lord of Supreme Bliss.

Siri guru sahib sabh upaar, man bach karam sayveeai sacha ||5||
The Supreme Guru is the Lord and Master over all; so serve the True
Guru, in thought, word and deed. ||5||

 These are the last four lines of Guru Gobind Singh's powerful prayer, Jaap Sahib. Chattra Chakkra Vartee removes fear, anxiety, depression, insecurity and phobias. It instills courage, fearlessness and brings victory. It gives self-command and self-grace.

Thou art pervading in all the four directions,

the Enjoyer in all the four directions.

pooran jot jagai ghaṯ mai tab khaalas taah(i) nakhaalas jaanai.

jaagit jot(i) japai nis baasur ayk binaa man naik na aanai.

teerath daan dayaa tap sanjam ayk binaa nah(i) ayk pachhaanai.

One who embodies the consciousness of Khālsā, a living state of purity, has the divine light of the One shining forth from the heart in complete magnificence and radiance. It can be felt and perceived when it is there, and when it is not.

That one meditates in a wakeful state on the Ever-radiant Light, day and night, and doesn’t let even a little bit of something else to come into the mind.

That one decorates herself/himself with the love and faith in the completely filling Light of the One, and does not go astray with empty religious rituals, observances in graves, or sitting in isolated meditation huts.

That one knows none except the one Lord in the performance of acts of pilgrimage, charities, compassion, austerities and self-control.

This shabad brings wisdom, trust,  and Divinity self-illumined.

Ray man eh bidh jog kamao
Singhee saach akapat kanthala
Dhiaan bibhoot charhaao
Taatee gaho aatam bas kar kee
Bichaa naam adhaarang
Baaje param taar tat har ko
Upajay raag rasaarang
Ughatay taan tarang rang atay giaan geet bandhaanang

Oh, my mind practice Yoga in this way:

Let Truth be your horn, sincerity your necklace, and meditation the ashes you apply on your body.

Catch your burning soul (self) and stop the flames. Let the soul (self) be the alms bowl in which you collect the sweet Naam and this will be the only support you will ever need.

The Universe plays its divine music. The sound of reality is shrill, but this is where God is.

When you listen to the reality from this place of awareness the sweet essence of Raag arises.

Waves of melodies, emotions, and passions arise and flow through you. Bind yourself with the song of God.

The Universe spins like a potter’s wheel and from it fly demons and angels. The sage listens to this and instead of getting caught in either one, the sage drinks in the nectar of the heavens and is carried to the heavens in a divine chariot.

Instruct and clothe yourself with self control. Meditate unto infinity until you are meditating without meditating.

In this way, your body shall remain forever golden, and death shall never approach you.

  The Narayan Shabd is practiced for restoration, vitality, and renewal. Narayan is one of the many different names for the Divine. It relates to the quality of water. As a plant needs water for its flowers to blossom, in the same way chanting Narayan nurtures the Divine Identity within you so that your soul can bloom into its full beauty and grace.

The Name of the Immaculate Lord is the Ambrosial Water. 

Chanting it with the tongue, sins are washed away. ||1||Pause|| 

The Lord abides in everyone. The Lord illumines each and every heart. 

Chanting the Lord’s Name, one does not fall into hell. Serving the Lord, all fruitful rewards are obtained. ||1|| 

Within my mind is the Support of the Lord. The Lord is the boat to cross over the world-ocean. Chant the Lord’s Name, and the Messenger of Death will run away. 

The Lord breaks the teeth of Maya, the witch. ||2|| The Lord is forever and ever the Forgiver. The Lord blesses us with peace and bliss. 

The Lord has revealed His glory. The Lord is the mother and father of His Saint. ||3|| 

The Lord, the Lord, is in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy. Time and time again, I sing the Lord’s Praises. 

Meeting with the Guru, I have attained the incomprehensible object Slave Nanak has grasped.

Endless are your praises, endless are those who speak them.
Endless are your actions, endless are your gifts.

Your limits cannot be perceived. What is the Mystery of your mind?
The limits of the created universe cannot be perceived.
Its limits here and beyond cannot be perceived.
Many struggle to know your limits,
but your limits cannot be found.
No one can know these limits.
The more you say about them, the more there still remains to be said.
Great is the Master, High is Your Heavenly Home.
Highest of the High, above all is Your Name.
Only one as Great and as High as You
can know Your Lofty and Exalted State.
